Tuberculosis BCG Vaccine help Type 1 Diabetics-Research

In a research done by Massachusetts General Hospital, it was found that the simple old generation BCG vaccine helps to reduce HBA1C levels among Type 1 diabetics.

BCG is one of the oldest vaccine in the world and is used for the protection from tuberculosis. In the research, Type 1 diabetics were administered two doses of the BCG vaccines.

Subsequently, the group showed improvement in their blood sugar level and they required less dose of insulin for their daily requirement.

Though many people are enthusiastic about this news and are hopeful that we will find the cure in the near future.
I don’t want to be pessimistic but I have come across multiple news which shows promise to cure Type 1 diabetes. I think that there is a long way to go and should focus on managing the blood sugar with what we have got.
